The people you meet in Heaven
I've heard of a book (although I haven't read it) with an interesting premise - The Five People You Meet in Heaven, by Mitch Albom. There are a number of people I look forward to meeting when I pass over to the other side, most of whom I hope will join me in a very pleasant and revealing experience and conversation.
However - I need to get something off my chest. There are a couple of people I'd like to meet in heaven, and probably not for good reasons. The two people are: The person who invented the ultra-tight cellophane shrink wrap on CDs and DVDs; and the person who invented clam-shell packaging for electronics and small devices. And, the reason I'd like to meet them in heaven is so I can punch them in the nose. While these inventions affect my life in only small ways, every time they do they are extremely and highly annoying.
But then, I get to thinking, and realize I have an existential issue on my hands. I expect, at least before being resurrected, that I will be a spirit and the other person will be a spirit. So - can a spirit deliver a punch in the nose, and if so can a spirit feel a punch in the nose? I have never found a doctrinal answer to this, and I'm kind of trepidatious about asking my Bishop, because he's going to ask why and I'm afraid the conversation is going to go downhill from there.
Then, the other thing is, just even thinking this is probably going to get me sent to hell, at least for some period of time. But - that's where I expect to find those two anyway. And hopefully, they'll be unwrapping an endless pile of CDs and removing a mountain of electronics from clamshells while being unable to find their scissors because someone took off with them.
